The association Dauphins de Rangiroa (DDR) is pleased to be a winner of the first call for projects of the Natura Porinetia Fund led by the Federation of Environmental Protection Associations of French Polynesia Te Ora Naho.
On 6 May, we participated in a press conference in the fare of the association Te Mana o Te Moana at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tahiti, bringing together representatives of the seven projects selected under the Fund.
DDR's project aims to promote ethical and sustainable dolphin-watching tourism in Rangiroa. It consists of renovating a permanent facility that will serve as a regular meeting place about dolphins and the impacts of wildlife tourism, and will offer concrete and positive solutions to limit our footprint on bottlenose dolphins while learning more about these protected animals in French Polynesia.
For this, we are supported and warmly thank the Commune of Rangiroa, the Directorate of Environment of French Polynesia, and the Rangiroa Diving Center.
