Over the past fifteen years, more than one in five dolphins has disappeared from the Tiputa area in Rangiroa.
In order to limit our impact on these animals and their environment, the Anavai Foundation has launched a fundraiser to help the association Dauphins de Rangiroa co-finance the creation of a small comic book to raise awareness about the impacts of tourism on the dolphins of Rangiroa.
The comic book will tell the story of Moana the dolphin, inspired by that of the bottlenose dolphins of the Tiputa area, and will be translated into four languages [English, Spanish, French, Tahitian].
It will be widely distributed in digital form, as posters, and as stickers incorporating a QR code.
Our objective is twofold:
1. To make accessible to as many people as possible a story whose risks and issues are often poorly understood by the public.
2. To create an attractive and easy-to-share tool.

The association Dauphins de Rangiroa continues its regular monitoring of bottlenose dolphins and of tourist activities targeting these emblematic cetaceans, but remains a small association made up solely of volunteers.
