The project of the association Dauphins de Rangiroa selected by Tahiti Tourisme

Good news for the association Dauphins de Rangiroa (DDR)! Our project to promote ethical and sustainable dolphin-watching tourism in Rangiroa, recently a laureate of the Natura Porinetia Fund, has also been selected by Tahiti Tourisme to be presented on its online donation platform, named Hina.

The objective of this platform is to actively contribute to the preservation and sustainable development of Tahiti and its islands. The four selected projects were chosen in partnership with FAPE and the Anavai Foundation. A press conference was organized on 13 May at the premises of Tahiti Tourisme, where the association Dauphins de Rangiroa was represented by FAPE.

The first step of our project is the renovation of an association building. This building will serve as a regular meeting place about dolphins and the impacts of animal tourism, and will propose concrete and positive solutions to limit our footprint on bottlenose dolphins while learning more about these protected animals in French Polynesia.

We are supported for this and warmly thank the Commune of Rangiroa, the Direction of the Environment of French Polynesia, the Rangiroa Diving Center, and FAPE.

We also thank Tahiti Tourisme and the other donors of the Natura Porinetia Fund, Air Tahiti Nui, EDT ENGIE, Pacific Beachcomber, Banque Socredo, TEP, TSP Tahiti, FAPE, Ofina, Polynésienne des Eaux, and OSB - Océanienne de Services Business.

It is also mentioned on TNTV and Radio1.
